OMR is our top investment choice in Chennai. Current rates are about Rs 5000 per sq ft. There is enough supply from various developers, so prices may remain around Rs 5000 per sq ft for a few quarters more, but they willl rise signifincantly once the Indian economy revival starts, and GDP growth moves back to 7% or above. A lot of residential property investment in Chennai has been put on hold because of weak global economy, and OMR property prices are direct lined to global economy because it is the IT sector hub.

01 Feb 2013: Indiabulls Real Estate has a good project called Indiabulls Greens in OMR, which should make a great investment over 10 years.  This project has two phases, and phase 1 is mostly booked, except for some 1 BHK apartments (which are ideal for investment) because IT service employees can rent these flats, giving a good rental yield on 1 BHK apartments. Construction is progressing well, and first set of flats will be handed over soon. Investors should give it a serious consideration.

31 May 2013: We now have 140 acres of agri land for sale near Cuddalore (near Neyveli Lignite). This is top well developed, actively managed farm land with rice, sugarcane, and coconut crops.
